"Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work... remember that our sons and our grandsons are going to do things that would stagger us. Let your watchword be order and your beacon beauty. Think big."

-Daniel Burnham, 1846-1912

ABOUT

Join those who are looking to dig deep for an event like no other: part brevet, part gran fondo, part self-supported endurance road race. Riders are provided a cue sheet, a marked course, and aid station/control points approximately 40 miles apart to restock. In between those support checks, riders can access convenience stores and other neutral amenities along the course as needed. The 200-mile route boasts over 10,000 feet of climbing and features several short sections of hard-packed gravel roads, while the 100-mile route checks in just over 5,000 feet of climbing and has no gravel.  Both courses offer scenic views of the Cascades Mountain range and run alongside the swift Santiam and Calapooia Rivers.

This timed event will begin and end in Lebanon, Oregon. Participants will roll out in a mass start before being set loose to explore the rolling back-roads and steep vistas of the mid-Willamette Valley. 200-mile riders will begin at 5 am, while the 100-mile riders will begin at 9 am.

Riders can provide one drop bag, no larger than a gallon size zip-lock, that will be transported to a designated control point by event officials. 200-mile riders will be able to access their drop bag two total times, while the 100-mile riders will be able to access theirs once. Checkpoint and course cut-offs will be implemented throughout the day in order to keep riders safe and accounted for. The Swift Summit 200 course will close at 10 pm (12 mph/avg required), and the Swift Summit 100 course will close at 5 pm (11 mph/avg required). Please refer to the control point information on the Ride with GPS course maps below for specific control cut-off times.

Riders are allowed, and encouraged, to help one another with mechanical or other support needs. There is no access for outside team support other than at the designated control points. Any rider who does not meet the checkpoint deadline, or those needing to pull themselves from the course, may do so at any checkpoint and will be shuttled back to the start when the checkpoint officially closes. In the event that a rider cannot make it to an aid station before they drop, they may call the emergency number listed on their cue sheet to be picked up by the nearest aid station volunteer.
